Life is a Sale and Happiness its Commission
A salesperson is not guaranteed a minimum wage or salary. His earning is based on the percentage of revenue he brings in and grows in direct proportion to the amount of efforts he expends.
If we expand our view a bit and look at our lives as a whole, no such thing as a “guaranteed minimum wage” exists either:
- There is no guarantee that we will be rich.
- There is no guarantee that the right partner will come to you or me.
- There is no guarantee that we will be as healthy 10 years down the road from now.
- There is no guarantee that friends and people we know for so long will be with us every walk of the way.
The only constant in life is Uncertainty. And perhaps another one is the fact that we must be willing to commit our energy, make efforts and take massive actions to achieve and maintain whatever we consider important and worthwhile in our lives.
- The harder we work and the more we invest in our financial knowledge, the better chance we have of getting a break one day.
- The more you and I go out and expand our network, the more people we meet and the more likely we will bump into someone who clicks. No dream girl or guy is going to appear if we just stay home lying on the couch.
- We will grow old — that is for sure. But the more aware we are of eating healthy and exercising regularly, the longer vitality and health are going to stick with us.
- The more attention we give to nurturing the relationships and the more sincerity, honesty and appreciation we put in the bowl, the stronger the bonds that will keep us together as time goes by.
The most hardworking and dedicated salesperson is the one who earns the most commission.
The person who is most committed to building a great and fulfilling life is the one who will be rewarded with true happiness.
So the only question that matters is: “How badly do you want the commission of life?”
